About Us / Who We Are
|
For I like to rise when the sun she rises, If you have ever been to the faire or heard stories about faire, perhaps you have heard of the Well and the washer women. That's us. We are them. We are those ladies who swing wet clothes here and there, roll around in the mud, sing, play games, and gossip about the day. We always welcome families into our area and love to show them how to wash. Everyone is welcome. Come on by, visit with us. Take a moment to hear a song, get your hands "dirty" washing some clothes, or perhaps you would like to tell us a story or a jest. We love the company, so come visit us!

Our HistoryIn 2009 the Guild of Saint Hunna picks up where Washer Women of the past left off and strove to continue the legacy of those vibrant and rowdy women of the Well. The Guild had gone by many different names over the years but in 2009 when current guild leader, Rebecca Zavaleta took over direction, Saint Hunna was adopted as the Guild's patron saint.
The beauty of our guild is that it remains to be a close nit group of members that have remained with the group since it's rebirth in 2009. Ever expanding and improving the heart and soul of each member can be seen in the beautiful detail placed in the yard and costuming. In 2007 when the Washer Women came back underneath Play Faire productions the guild yard was a mix of vibrant colors, a Well and a dream. Today we can see that our group has worked hard to create the realistic and impeccably detailed area it has become. (More information on the beginnings of the Washer Women to come. Check back) |
